What is a Domestic Violence Order?
A Domestic Violence Order (DVO) is an order made by the Court to protect a person from domestic and family violence. It can include conditions about a respondent’s behaviour, contact with the aggrieved person and other circumstances depending on the individual matter.
Can I apply for an urgent Temporary Protection Order?
Yes. If urgent protection is required, an application can be made for a Temporary Protection Order (TPO) while the Court considers the application for a final Protection Order. We can advise you about the process and the orders that may be appropriate in your circumstances.
What should I do if a Domestic Violence Order application has been made against me?
